God has granted humans with the awesome power to experience various emotions. None of them are bad. None of them are good. They are simply emotions that will certainly pass.
When you truly ‘feel’ the emotions you are in a place to ‘heal’ the emotion. If you have chosen to think it is bad or undesirable, consider your source of reference. God has given this emotion to you to fully experience. Some emotions come clothed as opportunities to learn a bigger lesson in life. Some come to make us feel better about things. Either way do not become attached to the emotion. ‘Feel’ it completely. Allow it to penetrate every cell in your being. Then release it.
As we allow ourselves to be honest with exactly what we are experiencing, it opens the doors of healing. If we have decided that the feeling is somehow bad, we must rethink it. Why would we have this emotion in the first place? Discomfort comes to remind us. Joy comes to remind, also.
This exercise has helped countless individuals who have come to me for help. I tell them what they are ‘feeling’ is neither right nor wrong, it just is. As they fully experience whatever they are going through, they realize the fulfillment is in the going through of the emotion. Soon they witness the beauty in their experience and rejoice.
So whatever it is for you today, ‘feel’ your way through it. Fully and completely get involved in the emotion. Temper tantrums are permissible. ‘Feeling’ down is okay, go all the way as low as you can go. Suddenly it loses its magic grip on you. You have acknowledged it and now it can pass.
