When you are most taunted with challenges, BE STILL.
When the weight of the world seem to be pressing heavily upon your neck and shoulders, BE STILL.
When you just do not know the answers, do not know what to do next,
When there seems to be chaos and confusion all around you, BE STILL.
When you feel alone and boxed into a corner, BE STILL!
When darkness is the only light you can see….BE STILL.
While facilitating a session with Common Ground this statement came up. The discussions shared by the participants were interesting. Suddenly there was silence. A question or actually a need that had been expressed earlier was answered by someone. Again another moment of silence. Understand here that silence is a rare instance with this group. One of the group members observed that the answer came when the group became silent, as we were all being still. It was such an Ah-ha moment. We were each reminded of the gift of just stopping to BE STILL!
Be Still and Know is a scripture that has puzzled many because of the simplicity with which it asks you to not do anything other than BE STILL AND KNOW! There is so much strength in being still. It is relatively easy to take action on something even if it is the wrong action. However to BE STILL requires great strength because it goes against what our society tells us we need to do to resolve all opportunities in life.
The Present Gift is to be fully alive and active in the ‘Now Moment’; to release all attachments to outcomes, schedules, obligations and demands. In other words it means to simply “BE”!
We may experience difficulty in doing this because we have become a society controlled by a clock, a manmade mechanism to guide us through the day. We gauge all our actions by the time, the stroke of the clock.
I personally own several watches but never wear one. I gave up the attachment many years when I attended a class facilitated by Rev. Adunni. I am never late, actually I normally arrive early to all my commitments. For me there is freedom in not always checking my wrist to ’see’ if I am on time or what time it is, but that works for me.
The ‘Now Moment’ is fully lived when I am totally present in whatever activity I find myself engaged in. There is always a gift in that moment of being fully present to it.
Today remember to be completely and actively in ‘The Present Gift’. Unwrap it with the excitement of a child. What is your gift? Do you really appreciate it? Show your gratitude for the contents of your gift, it has come to bless you.
I appreciate the many gifts contained in the individual presents given to me this day. Each one is unique and special, valuable and worthy of my absolute attention.
It is an awesome feeling to always present your self expressing exactly who you are in totality. It is extremely rewarding to know that your purpose; your gifts are to be freely shared with others; that your best is always sufficient.
Self satisfaction is the result. To feel you constantly give the best you is exhilarating. It is a high, like none other. You get to marvel at how well you demonstrate your uniqueness. There is no need to pretend or compromise. Great Wisdom is displayed when you stand firm in your Truth.
And when others acknowledge you, it only adds to what you already feel. To know that what you alone bring to share with the Universe is appreciated gives you great pleasure at a soul level.
You can smile deep as you Thank God for gifting you with Life! Joy is deeply imbedded in your core. You remain humble and obedient to your call. Even as you are unsure of others acceptance, you inhale the spiritual faculty of Faith and step out.
A prayer goes out asking for guidance and you proceed. There may be times when the answer to your prayer is so spontaneous that consciously you are not aware that you sent a prayer out. This can happen as you become steadfast in always desiring the best for yourself and others. Each thought is a prayer and you now choose your thoughts carefully. The answer is automatic and you trust and know that your thoughts (prayers) are quickly manifested.
It is always darkest before the light, is a phrase I have heard many times before. In the darkness is where new life is formed and created. Do not be fooled by the darkness and think it will always be dark. The Light is just on the other side, it is the opposite of the darkness.
Some people give up while in the darkest of times. Perhaps they give up just before the dream is realized. Perhaps the dream is at its last stage of development and of becoming a reality. But if you give up too soon you will never know if the dream was possible. Believe it is always possible. It may not come when you think it should, but it will surely come into full manifestation. Hold on through the darkest hours. When you get to the point of almost being exactly where you want to be, please do not give up. Wait! Trust the process and garner all the Faith you can and keep going.
The Light is always shining, although sometime it may be hiding behind a cloud or other obstruction. The Light is where dreams are realized. The Light is the place you truly desire to be. Go to The Light. Do not become discouraged by a temporary dark spell. Something is growing in the darkness. Plants grow below the surface of the ground in complete darkness. Film is developed in a dark room into beautiful pictures. There is wonder in the darkness. We get to rest in the darkness.
Just as a new day is born from a night of darkness so will your hopes and dreams manifest for you out of the darkest hours. The darkness builds character and stamina, both qualities you will require in the pursuit of realizing your goals. Welcome the quietness of the dark times. Be kind and loving to yourself during this period of time. Your energy level may be low and needs to be replenished. This is good because you cannot function on high octane constantly. You require rest. Be grateful for all things, all the time.
THE LIGHT IS ALWAYS SHINING. You just might not be able to see it clearly with your human eyes.
In the presence of others, do you take the high road of authenticity or gauge how you show up dependent upon on how the others appear? This is sometimes referred to as peer pressure. And you thought that only applied to children, especially teenagers. Well it does not and guess what, the same small children you are saying this to be watching you and how you show up in the company of others.
Do not compromise your values for the sake of belonging. Isn’t that what we tell our children? Be a leader not a follower, and there we go following the gang because everyone is doing it. As we get older our gang is broader and is often influenced by what we see on television and what we hear in the music. The community at large becomes our gang, the people we hang out with. In this process do you still honor your truth? Or are you following the crowds, the same crowd we warn our children about?
Actions are always much louder than our words. Our children are watching. How we show up! Are your actions consistent with your values? How do you show up? Is the environment the one who sets the tone of what is fashionable and the latest trend? Are your actions consistent with your words?
Is honesty an admirable value? Yet you lie to others often, in the company of your children? What do you think they are learning, that it is okay to lie some of the time, because they hear you doing it? Well if this is how you show up, please do not chastise the children for repeating what you are teaching. Do you holler, scream and curse others when you are upset? But insist upon spanking the child that does the same as you?
How do you show up for yourself? Do you compromise because you feel intimidated by titles or status? Regardless of the position in life we are each the same, a child of God.
Respect yourself and show up as the real you all the time!
What are you catching with your fishing pole (consciousness)? What bait (thoughts) are you using? What size is your fishing pond (Faith)?
You can pull/catch the future and bring it into the present. Or you can continue catching the past by not releasing the old worn out tape. It is your choice. When you desire newness, you will gladly relinquish attachment to the past. I can stop the tape of the past and discord it. As long as I find comfort in the familiar, even when it may cause me pain, and stay there, that is my choice.
Today I choose to fish from the pond of unlimited possibilities. I open myself up to visualizing in grand style. I use my gift of imagination and expand it by increasing my vision. I continue with this process of expanding and increasing until it is complete. Then I start over because I know God is in control, which is my Faith. My vision is impaired by my physical knowledge. However, I accept God has more in store for me than I could ever imagine. I do my part by beginning the process and then allowing the Infinite Intelligence to guide and direct me to what and where I am to go. I am ever Thankful for being led by The Most High to my higher state of being and consciousness.
I require a large vessel to hold the fish I catch today. No longer is a small ship large enough to hold my catch. I willingly expand to receive my expected and unexpected good! It is right in front of me, some I see while others are just below the surface waiting for my bait to snag them.
Praises, Praises, Praises. As Praises go Up, Blessings Come Down! I graciously accept them ALL! Thanks God. So Be It!!!
To fully appreciate any activity you must be totally present. For instance when I go into prayer and meditation, I do not allow anything to disturb me. The phone is taken off the hook, turned off or unplugged and I do not concern myself with who might want to call me during my daily ritual. There is absolute peace and quiet; just me and God, communicating.
Likewise when I go on the job to work that is what I give my attention to. I show up in grand style, always willing and willful to give my best. I do the work I am commissioned to do and receive pay for my services.
In my relationships I show up joyous and filled with appreciative love and acceptance for the person(s). This is my opportunity to give the best of me to the other person. I enjoy the relationships I have with others. I am learning from the exchange, I am growing as a result of this two way communication and dialog.
To each and every activity we engage we are required to just show up, to be present in the moment with the others that are involved. There are constant Blessings to receive when you are in this state of consciousness.
Today I show up in my best possible state of Peace and Harmony. I give my best at all times. I must show up to reap the benefits of being present. I accept there is always a gift awaiting my presence.
Wherever I may go I choose to be present. I show up in my best attire including an attitude of gratitude that I am able to fully participate in the exchange with someone.
I show up so God can show out, expressing through me.
